WANASTAY – Guest Stay Policy,
House Rules & Important Information

 

Thank you for choosing Wana Stay!

We're thrilled to welcome you to our beautiful homes in Wānaka and Queenstown. To keep our places in top condition for everyone (and our wonderful neighbours happy), please kindly observe the following rules during your stay.

Maximum Occupancy

  • Strictly limited to the number of guests stated in your booking confirmation (including children & infants).

  • No additional overnight guests or visitors without prior written approval.

  • Maximum daytime visitors: 2 extra people (short visits only).
     

Check-in & Check-out

  • Check-in: After 2:00 pm (please advise your estimated arrival time)

  • Check-out: By 10:00 am sharp

  • Late check-out requests considered where possible (fees may apply).
     

Noise & Neighbourhood Respect

  • Queenstown Lakes District has strict residential visitor accommodation rules — we must protect our neighbours.

  • Quiet hours: 10:00 pm – 7:30 am (no loud music, parties, or raised voices outdoors/indoors).

  • No parties, events, functions or gatherings of any kind permitted (this includes bucks/hens, birthdays, corporate events, etc.).

  • We actively monitor for compliance — violation may result in immediate termination of stay with no refund.
     

Smoking & Vaping

  • Strictly no smoking or vaping inside any property or within 5 metres of doors/windows.

  • Designated outdoor smoking area (if provided) only — please use the provided ashtray and dispose responsibly.

  • $500 cleaning fee applies for any evidence of indoor smoking/vaping.
     

Pets

  • Most of our properties are strictly no pets to protect allergy-sensitive future guests.

  • A very limited number of pet-friendly homes are available — must be pre-approved in writing + extra pet fee & bond.

  • Never leave pets unattended or allow them on furniture/beds.


Hot Tub / Spa (if applicable)

  • Children under 12 must be supervised at all times.

  • No glassware allowed in or near the hot tub.

  • Shower before entering.

  • Cover on when not in use (energy & safety reasons).

  • Hot tub temperature max 40°C.
     

General Care & Safety

  • Treat the home like your own – no damage, no rearranging furniture.

  • Report any breakages/damage immediately (minor incidents handled with grace).

  • No shoes on beds or couches.

  • Keep all doors & windows closed when heating/cooling is on.

  • No BBQ use inside or on wooden decks (use designated area only if provided).

  • No open flames (candles, fireworks, sky lanterns, etc.).

  • Keep fire doors closed at all times (if applicable).

  • First aid kit located in [kitchen cupboard / laundry]. Emergency numbers are in the welcome book.
     

Rubbish & Recycling

  • Please use the correct bins (general waste, recycling, food scraps if provided).

  • Bins only to the street on collection day (we'll advise dates).

  • Extra rubbish removal fee may apply for excessive waste.
     

Security & Responsibility

  • Lock doors/windows when leaving the property.

  • Do not share access codes with anyone outside your booking.

  • You are responsible for the conduct of all members of your group.

  • Any excessive cleaning required (beyond normal turnover) will be charged at $80/hour.
     

QLDC Residential Visitor Accommodation Rules

Our properties operate under Queenstown Lakes District Council short-term visitor accommodation regulations. We are fully registered and compliant. Help us stay good neighbours by respecting the above rules — especially no parties and quiet hours.
